Trail Report: Friday, Oct. 24
Here's our final trail report for 2025:
We'd like to give a huge thank you to Illy and our trail crew. Kirk, Jacob, and Ty did a fantastic job keeping our trails in great shape, while working on some major projects like those beautiful new bridges on Flowdown. We were sad to lose Jacob for the final few weeks of the season, but he went down to Utah to be part of Georgia Astle's build crew for a little event called Redbull Rampage. We really can't blame him for taking that opportunity. Cheers to Kirk and Ty for continuing on until the very end!
The trails are in fantastic shape right now. Kirk's report from the field said they are "ideal", with occasional wet slippery spots and lots of leaves down in places. The forecast shows anywhere from 11 to 36 mm of rain by Sunday afternoon, depending on which model you trust. By next weekend, the models call for 34-76 mm of precip. We use alpineconditions.com for our forecasts because it provides models from Canada, the U.S., Europe, and Japan. One thing we can say is that we're at the time of year that once the trails get wet, they stay wet. You'll find the best conditions on the sunniest slopes, which really means Sunnyside.
Trail crew spent its last week hopping around our networks and prepping our tools for winter. On the trails, they put a bunch of time on Sunnyside to buff it out before the snow falls. We hope that will make for great riding until winter hits and when the snow melts in the spring. On Boulder, they put in some work in the Detention Centre, fixed the landing on the step-up on Cash Advance, and cleared out some ditches on Sisyphus so it drains nicely through the November Rain and the spring melt.
We hope you enjoyed these weekly trail reports. If there's anything you'd like to see more (or less of) next season, let us know.
