Youth Rides Are Back For Spring 2026!
The RCA, Stoke Youth Network, and Wandering Wheels are once again partnering to offer free group rides for grades six and seven students this spring.
ShredHERS is a bi-weekly group mountain bike ride open to all girls in grades six and seven. Every other week we’ll run ShredCOED, which is open to all grade six and seven students. The rides will be held on alternating Tuesdays, starting April 28. These rides will be led by qualified guides from Wandering Wheels, and supported by teachers, parents, and high school students. Free rentals are available to those without bikes.
Registration
Please register in advance by Sunday at 11:59 p.m. using our online form. This will help us ensure we have enough vehicles on hand to help transport everyone to the trailhead. If your child is signed up for a week and cannot make it, please let us know.
Rental information
We are happy to offer free bike rentals to participate in our youth rides. Due to a limited availability of rental bikes in town, we may not be able to accommodate everyone, but we will do our best.
Bicycles are available on a first-come, first-serve basis and parents are responsible for reserving the rental when they register.
Funding
We would like to thank BC Hydro for supporting our 2025 Youth Rides through its Community Grant program and Wandering Wheels for being the Title Sponsor. If you would like to support our youth rides so we can expand this program, please email ed@bikerevelstoke.org.
The total cost of delivering this program is about $10,000, of which about 40% is covered by grants and sponsorship, 15% by the Stoke Youth Network, and the rest by the RCA. If you would like to support the delivery of this program, please consider a voluntary donation*. This will enable the RCA to direct its funding into its trail networks, where it is most needed.
*Please let us know when you make a donation so we can ensure the money goes toward our youth rides.

Who is leading the rides?
Q: Does my child need mountain biking experience?
Is there a limit to how many children can take part each week?
The rides will be led by qualified mountain bike guides from Wandering Wheels. They will be assisted by teachers and parents.
No experience is required, but some experience definitely helps. Some coaching will be provided, but this is supposed to be a group ride and not a kids camp, so the focus is on riding trails.
ShredHERS rides will be divided into two groups and ShredCOED will be divided into three groups so we can cater to all abilities as best as possible.
My child doesn’t have a bike but really wants to take part. Can they rent one?
We have a limited number of free rental bikes available for children without bikes. Please let us know by the Monday before the ride if you need one when you register and we will do our best to accommodate. If you asked for a bike but cannot make it, please let us know so that bike can be made available for someone else.
Note: The RCA pays for the cost of bike rentals, so please only request a rental bike if your child absolutely needs one.
There is no limit, but we may need help with transportation and supervision during the rides if we are overwhelmed by numbers. This would be a great problem to have.
If you have any more questions, please email us.
