Friday Trail Report: May 2
Here's our weekly trail report for Friday, May 2.
The majority of our network is open, the exceptions being Upper Boulder (Red Necks, Iron Lotus, Bike Club, Upper Boondocker) and Frisby Ridge. The trails are in fantastic shape, though they're drying out quicker than we'd like for early-May. Here's hoping for some rain.
Our trail crew team is up and running, with Jacob joining Kirk and Tyler on Monday. Here's some of their accomplishments this week:
They cleaned up the Beavers and Berm Donor.
They went up and over the top of Flowdown, removing 10 or so trees in the process.
They went through the cut block on Flow Down and brushed the whole thing. That means no more getting whipped by alder as you descend!
They fixed up an awkward off-camber section in the cutblock on Flowdown.
On Home Run, they removed a few trees and fixed a spot where a downed tree uprooted the whole trail.
Elsewhere on Boulder, they raked Boondocker, Gravy Bacon, and Tall Timber above the 5K road.
Over the next few weeks, trail crew will be focusing their attention on Boulder. If you know of anything urgent they should address, such as downed trees, let us know and we'll dispatch them to the scene.
Finally, we have a Dig Day scheduled for Tuesday, May 6, to build a short connector from the bottom of Hot Dog Hallway to Upper Sisyphus. We hope to see you there!
