Trail Report: Friday, May 23
Our trails continue to be in great shape, with great dirt throughout. We did get quite a bit of rain this week, so some trails are pretty muddy and slick. The forecast is calling for a warm, sunny weekend, followed by heavy rain Monday, then clearing and even hotter temps the rest of the week.
Trail crew got up to Ultimate Frisby this week, but UFC remains inaccessible due to snow. We also got a report that Martha Creek is good to ride from the 5km spur road down. For the roadies, the Meadows in the Sky Parkway is open past the Columbia Lookout.
Here's a few highlights from trail crew this week:
They fixed the landing for the drops on Gravy Bacon. We heard it needed work, so we got it done. Let us know how it holds up!
On Sisyphus, the roots at the Gravy Bacon junction are now buried under a smooth carpet of dirt. Enjoy!
Lots more dirt was moved to smooth out the berms on Lower Boondocker and Gravy Bacon.
On Thursday, they pedaled up to Ultimate Frisby and cleared a bunch of trees, rocks, and other debris. They will be heading back next week with the chainsaw to get the remaining big trees.
The trail of the week is Boondocker, which was riding great even after Wednesday race thanks to efforts by Dig Day volunteers and trail crew.
Our crew will be back at it on Monday. If you know of anywhere that needs work, let us know in the comments or send us a message. You can also submit reports via Trailforks or the form on bikerevelstoke.org/conditions.
Our next Dig Day is Saturday, May 31, at 9 am, location TBD. The Daily Dirt Toonie series continues this Wednesday, May 28. Stay tuned for details.
And don't forget the inaugural Iron Horse XC, coming up on Saturday, June 14. Registration is now open!
