Trail Report: Friday, June 19
Here's our Trail Report for June 19:
đ¤ The weather has continued to be favourable for great riding conditions, but that could change this week. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, it hasn't been too hot and there's been a smattering of rain to keep the dirt tacky without it getting muddy. However, the forecast shows sunny skies and highs approaching 30 degrees during the week. There is a storm in the long-range forecast, so hopefully that transpires and we hold off the summer dust bowl a little longer.
â Last week, I asked if UFC was accessible. The answer is, "Yes!" Our trail crew got up there early in the week to brush and blow the trail, while addressing drainage. That means all our trails are open, with the exception of Frisby Ridge, which opens July 15. Elsewhere, the boys did some work on Boondocker and Hotdog Hallway, before shifting their attention to brushing on Macpherson.
Brushing will continue to be the priority for the rest of the month before the crew shifts its focus to Frisby Ridge to get it ready for opening. There's lots of brushing work needed on Macpherson, so if you're able to help out, let us know and we'll find a way to reward you for your work.
đ After a busy spring, events are on pause for summer. Our next one will be an enduro race on Boulder on Wednesday, Aug. 26, so mark your calendars. And then we've got Bike Fest from Sept. 14-20, which includes the Mega Bike Showdown, Revelstoke Women's Enduro, and more.
This trail report is sponsored by The Village Idiot, The Chesterfield, and The Big Eddy Pub, who adopted Miller Time and Stimulus. These three restaurants have been serving our community for nearly two decades. Thank you for supporting our trail networks!
