Trail Report - Friday, March 13

Welcome to our first Trail Report of 2026!

It's been a wild winter for mountain biking in Revy. In the past, we didn't think about riding until April, but this year, we had trails melting out in mid-February. And just when we think it's good to go, it snows in town and we have to wait for it to melt and dry up. The photo here was taken on Thursday, March 12, though not on one of our trails. This snow should melt pretty quickly, but the forecast is calling for rain early next week, which means the trails will be pretty soggy for the foreseeable future. Our trails hold up pretty well to rain and the spring melt, but it helps us in the long-run if you can hold off riding them until they've had a chance to dry up a bit. We know you're excited to get on your bike, but a little patience will pay dividends.

If are out on the trails, there's a few ways you can let everyone know about conditions or trail hazards:

  1. Submit a report via Trailforks: www.trailforks.com/region/revelstoke/reports. Trailforks is the most popular trail website and the best way to reach the most people.

  2. If you're not on Trailforks, use our Trail Conditions page: www.bikerevelstoke.org/conditions. We'll make sure to share it publicly.

  3. Post on the RCA Volunteers Facebook group: www.facebook.com/groups/rcavolunteers. This is a great way to let volunteer trail stewards know of trail hazards that need attention like downed trees or broken bridges.

Finally, our trail crew won't be starting work until next month, after their winter jobs wrap up. One great way you can help maintain our trails until they get going is to help drain ditches. If you come across a puddle, stop, grab a big stick or rock, and dig out a drain on the downslope side. That will let the water flow off the trail and dry up even faster. If everyone drains one puddle, our trails will be good to go in no-time!

Happy riding!
