Celebrating ShredHERS and ShredCOED

Our 2026 ShredHERS and ShredCOED Youth Rides program, sponsored by Wandering Wheels, was a roaring success! Run over eight weeks in the spring, we had over 80 grade six and seven students sign up, with almost 50 turning up on the busiest day. We also provided 52 free mountain bike rentals over the eight weeks to ensure kids without bikes could take part.

The RCA is proud to fund this program, which gets kids stoked on mountain biking and riding together in a friendly, inclusive environment. But we couldn’t do it without a lot of support:

• The Stoke Youth Network for organizing and promoting the rides, and providing funding.

• Wandering Wheels, the title sponsor, who is also contracted to provided professional coaches, transportation, and rentals.

• Supporting sponsors Parallel Vision Contracting, The Wax Bench, and Arrowhead Industries, which came on board to provide financial support.

• BC Hydro and Cascadia Credit Union for providing grants.

• All the parents and teachers who volunteered to help with the rides.

• All the parents who made donations to help offset the costs of the program.
