Trail Report: Friday, June 27

The summer solstice has come and gone, but it still feels like spring here, with cool, wet weather keeping its grip on the area. Trail conditions range from wet to ideal, which beats dry and dusty, in our humble opinion. It looks like more rain is in store for Saturday, but summer should arrive afterwards. The riding should continue to be fantastic across our networks for the foreseeable future.

Trail crew spent most of its time on Logging Leftovers last week, especially the section between the cutblock and the road crossing. Go enjoy that fresh dirt now! They also removed some trees on Flowdown and Sisyphus.

We also completed work at the trail junctions on Sisyphus. You'll now find archways on the climber as you approach Gravy Bacon on Boondocker. The contractor, Alpine Connections, used old wood work to build these, which is a pretty cool nod to the past. Our next step is to add some signage warning uphill riders to watch out for downhill traffic. This is all part of our goal to reduce the risk of collisions on Boulder. After all, it is a DH network and downhillers have the right of way, so we want them to feel confident they won't hit anyone. If you're heading uphill, slow down, and take a look up at the junctions before proceeding.

For the next two weeks, trail crew will be up on Frisby Ridge getting it ready for opening day on July 15. They've got seven work days to do remove trees, address drainage, brush, and fix up any problem sections. We have special permission to do this work while the trail is closed to the public. Please respect the wildlife closure until opening day.
