Trail Report: Friday, May 15

Here's our trail report for Friday, May 15:

Did you dance with joy when it started raining on Wednesday? Sure, we all want a sunny long-weekend, but deep down we know this rain and cool temps is what we need to keep the dirt tacky (and wildfires at bay). It was dry as a bone out there, but now conditions are quite primo. There isn't much more rain in the forecast, but the cooler temps are expected to continue for the foreseeable future, so the moisture should stick around, especially in forested trails.

Our trail crew had a busy week. They removed all known trees on Upper & Lower Macpherson and Sisyphus, cleaned up a root ball on Iron Lotus, and groomed Hot Dog Hallway. With the dry conditions, they also got going widening the bridge on Flowdown just below the power lines. They couldn't fit an adaptive bridge on the existing corridor, so they're building a new one beside it. It should be finished early next week, and then they'll get back to dirt work.

We've got a few events coming up next week:

⛏ Tuesday, May 19: Dig Day on Boulder from 5:30 p.m. until dark

🏁 Wednesday, May 20: Toonie DH on Boulder from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

We hope you enjoy the trails over the long weekend. Please keep sending us your reports. We're interested in providing road and gravel reports, too, so feel free to share those as well.
