Trail Report: Friday, Sept. 12
It is dry out there! We had a couple of small storms this week, but not even close to enough rain to bring the tacky back to the trails. The best riding is on our cross-country trails, while our DH trails are feeling the effect of a few weeks without moisture. Give your friends space if you don't like choking on dust. Will it ever rain again? Of course! We just don't know when and we're not going to put our hopes into the long-term forecasts, which seem to always show rain a week out and have so far disappointed.
Trail crew spent the week spiffing up our trails for the races this week. That meant lots of brushing, raking, and tree removal on Boulder and Macpherson. We'll see how well their work holds up after all the action.
The big news is Bike Fest this weekend! The Revelstoke Women's Enduro is on Saturday and the Revy 50 is on Sunday, so there will be a lot of people out enjoying our trails. In town, we've got some amazing events happening at Centennial Park on Saturday. Here's the full schedule for the day:
11 a.m.: U18 pump track race
12:30 p.m.: 18+ pump track race
2 p.m.: Mini-Bike Showdown!
4 p.m.: Mega-Bike Showdown!
6 p.m.: Dust Punk Disco, featuring Big Suz, Sweetgrass Caribou, and Dj Dolla Hillz. $25 entry.
