Everything You Need to Know About Frisby Ridge
Frisby Ridge opens for the season on July 15. Here's what you need to know:
After Monday's rain, the trail will be very wet. We know you're eager to get up there, but we kindly request you hold off riding it until it's had a day or two to dry out so it doesn't get damaged. About 10 years ago, the trail had to be closed for a season after too many people rode it following heavy rain, and we would hate for a repeat of that.
Our trail crew postponed its flight to Frisby Vistas due to the rain. They'll get up there later this week to do maintenance. Until then, you can expect to find trees down on Frisby Vistas. Please let us know if you encounter other issues back there.
There's still some snow patches in the alpine. Please push through them. DO NOT ride around through the alpine meadows. Let's do our best to minimize our impact in this sensitive environment.
A Revelstoke Snowmobile Club groomer went through the ice and into the lake by the cabin this winter. The groomer was promptly removed but there was a diesel spill. It is not safe to drink from or swim in the lake at this time. The snowmobile club is working with environmental experts to conduct water-quality sampling and remedy the situation. They will let us know as soon as their sampling confirms the water is safe.
A beaver dam has flooded the road between the exit of Ultimate Frisby and the Boulder parking lot. If you plan on riding all the way down to town, prepared to get wet to get back to the road.
Happy riding and enjoy the views!
