Trail Report: Friday, Aug. 1

It's the long weekend and conditions remain fantastic. I was up on Frisby Ridge Thursday evening with the Pedal n' Pint crew and it was absolutely phenomenal. The wildflowers are at their peak and the trail conditions were absolutely perfect. I can't recall many rides that have felt so smooth and flowy. The only negative is the mosquitoes, which are quite frankly horrendous right now. I guess that's the price you have to pay to enjoy these prime conditions.

Our trail crew was off this week and we haven't received too many reports from elsewhere in our network. We can assume that with the brief heatwave we experienced mid-week, things will be a little dusty, especially in open cut blocks and steeper trails on Boulder. But there is sporadic rain in the forecast, so that should keep the dirt down.

A heads up to anyone riding Lower Macpherson: we've received reports of numerous trees down on Sex on the Beach, Quarry, and Backside, so we don't recommend those trails right now. Our crew will get to them when they get back to work on Aug. 11 if no one beats them to it.

You can help inform these updates by filling out a report on our Trail Conditions page. If it's something major, we'll cross-post them to Trailforks so other users have access, and we'll share with our trail crew so they can go address them.

Have a great long weekend!
