Trail Report: Friday, Aug. 29

We don't have any photos from trail crew to post this week. Not that they weren't working, but we just aren't ready to share their current project because we want to wait until it's finished before we do. The last thing we want is for some impatient keeners to ruin their hard work.

Instead, we shared an older picture from the Revelstoke Women’s Enduro, which is coming back in two weeks time! We like the trail of dust behind the racer because it somewhat showcases current conditions, which are increasingly dry throughout our network. We looked at a bunch of weather models and there's no appreciable rain the forecast for the next week, so we advise to continue using your dry lube and getting used to a little less traction. Let's all do a rain dance so we get some precipitation ahead of Bike Fest!

Speaking of.... Revelstoke Bike Fest kicks off Monday, Sept. 8 and keeps going all week! We've got races, group rides, and fundraisers throughout the week, and it's all capped off with festivities in Centennial Park on Saturday, Sept. 13. We're looking for volunteers to help out with the weekend festivities, so please send us a message if you'd like to help make this event a success. There's great perks available to those who do.

We've got a couple other things to note:

  • BC Hydro's powerline mowing operation we posted about on August 6 has reached Boulder. Stay alert for heavy machinery under the powerlines and pay attention to signage and trail closures.

  • Logging on Upper Macpherson begins next week. Check out our post from August 27 for details.

  • Finally, the last Tantrum Ride Co. Enduro of the summer is at Boulder on Wednesday, Sept. 3. Details to come early next week.

We hope you enjoy a fantastic long weekend of riding!
